17 Best Beauty Products of 2017

As usual I thought I would end the year discussing my favourite beauty products that have been by my side for the last twelve months. I have tried some fabulous new products this year, and also rekindled my love for old favourites. There is a mix of hair, body, skincare and makeup and I really struggled to keep it down to just 17. Let’s just get stuck in shall we, in no particular order.

Moroccanoil Dry Texture Spray

I could not have gotten through the Summer without this. I was gifted this product to try and now I am addicted and have since bought two more bottles. I cannot express how great this is for creating texture – WITHOUT DRYING OUT YOUR HAIR – and it smells unreal. Obsessed with everything from this brand and highly recommend the Repair range of shampoo and conditioners also. My hairdresser told me to buy these since going blonder and my hair has been in the best condition.

Fenty Beauty Foundation

THE BEST FOUNDATION I TRIED THIS YEAR. Without a shadow of a doubt this is worth every penny. I need to buy more shades. Full review here (including review of the primer also).

The Body Shop Moringa Softening Body Butter

I fell in love with this a few  years ago and forgot all about it, but rekindled my love for it and it has become a staple in my beauty routine. It smells delicious and the fragrance remains on your skin all day long. So fresh, so clean. Love it.

Lush Cosmetics Flower’s Barrow Bath Oil

It makes me so sad that I do not have a bath of my own here in Ibiza, but whenever I do get to use a bath the new Lush Bath oils became my go to bathtime product. This one smells divine and looks so pretty when it melts into the water.

Goldfaden MD Doctor’s Scrub

My skin has been one temperamental swine this year. My breakouts have been absolutely hideous, but one product that really did help calm my skin and reduce the severity of my spots was this scrub from Goldfaden MD.

Beauty Pie Fruityzme Five Minute Facial

Skincare is definitely big in this product list, but skincare is probably my most favourite element of beauty. I love a lot of skincare from this brand (review here) but this 5 minute facial is my favourite. I have been using this twice a week and so happy it is now available in a larger size. Great for spot prone skin.

Pixi Glow Peel Pads

A new purchase, but I fell in love with these pads hence why they made the cut. I have been a massive fan of the Glow Tonic and Glow Serum and used these products for a while, but the 20% glycolic treatment pads just have that extra edge – that extra burn. Even when I have a break out my skin looks healthy and glowy because of these peel pads. TRY THEM.

Rituals The Ritual of Sakura Shower Foam

100% I have become a shower snob. I cannot use just any old shower gel now. I have gone through every single collection from Rituals, but I always come back to this one as it is so fresh and clean smelling. My shower feels naked now without a bottle of this stuff. Rituals also do the most amazing body scrub and giant candles too.

DHC Lip Cream

My lips are so dry all year round, but since using this lip cream there has been a serious improvement and I now carry it everywhere with me. It doesn’t feel slimy or heavy like most decent lip creams, this is lightweight but still does the job.

Guerlain Mon Guerlain Fragrance

Ooh I love having a personalised fragrance. This one was my Summer fragrance, and I am so happy to have a second bottle. It is light, but sexy and empowering all at the same time. With yummy floral notes but I strong base too, which is right up my street. It’s girly without screaming in your face, I hate sickly perfumes. This one is just perfect for me.

Vichy Dermablend Covermatte Compact Powder Foundation

The entire Dermablend range is incredible. I always carry the setting powder and the concealer sticks in my kit, and I also use the foundation too. Nevertheless, their compact powder foundation has become a firm favourite and with my forever problematic, shiny skin, it is a life saver. Great coverage, feels light weight and STAYS MATTE. A winner here.

Neom Scent to Destress Pulse Point

Anxiety is just a bugger, it can catch you off guard at any time of day, especially if you are me. I carry this Neom Destress roller ball in my hand bag because it really does sooth me when I am feeling a bit on edge. I love everything Neom do but this one has helped me a lot this year.

Inika Organics Light Reflect Cream

I am trying so hard to use more cruelty free brands, and I am hoping to make my entire pro makeup kit cruelty free in 2018. One of my favourite natural brands is Inika, and their stand out product for me is the Light Reflect Cream. In the Summer I use this on clients and on myself too. It is so pretty and looks fab on lots of different skin tones.

L’Oreal Professional Silver Shampoo

With going blonder I have had to start using a silver shampoo again each time I wash my hair and my all time favourite is this one. I have just ran out and need to restock, I think that makes it my fourth bottle. It never leaves that purple or blue tinge on the ends of your hair, it just does the job – stops your hair looking yellow.

Antipodes Apostle Serum

I have an unhealthy obsession with Antipodes as my dear friend Sophie knows all too well. One of my favourite serums from them is Apostle. It brightens your skin and I also find it helps with my break outs. It just keeps me looking nice and healthy. All about that glowy skin.

bareMinerals Fair to Light Bronzing Powder

If you have fair skin like me, this bronzing powder is incredible. I find most bronzers can look too heavy, too orange, too brown or just TOO MUCH IN GENERAL. This one is so soft and delicate whilst giving you just the right amount of warmth. Even when my skin (after many, many weeks) gets a bit more colour from the sunshine, I still use this and it looks fabulous.

Gatineau AquaMemory Moisture Cream

I have dehydrated skin so I am extremely fussy when choosing a moisturiser. It cannot be too heavy as my skin will just go oily. It cannot be too light as it will still be oily from not receiving enough moisture. This one has just the right texture, a water like gel, that absorbs straight into the skin but leaves me feeling nice and hydrated. It sits great under any of my foundations too.
