The Books That Inspired Me to Grow.

I have always, always been a bookworm. Growing up, me and my best friend Emma would swap books and give each other recommendations, and even still to this day, we do exactly that. I absolutely adore getting lost in an exciting story, whether that be a magical adventure or murder mystery, a summer romance or something dark and gripping. I’m one of those that will pack five books to take on holiday with me, and finish them all in the first week. I have been known to nearly miss a flight before, having been undecided on which book to buy.

More recently, my taste in books has expanded, and typically you can find me pondering the Self Help or Spiritual section of a book store. The books I want to share with you today I have read at least twice, in just the past six months. I come back to them regularly and unlike your usual fiction novel, these are books I turn to on a weekly basis.

The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod

Last Summer I was recommended this book by a few friends, and was told it would change my life.  A bold statement to say the least. Yet, it really has. This incredible book gives you the knowledge to make the most of those early hours before you begin your usual daily routine. It teaches you to start an inspiring morning ritual involving exercise, meditation, manifestation and gratitude. I dedicate an hour of each day following the teachings of this book, something that the likes of Oprah, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Will Smith believe in and practice.

You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay

I’ve always been happy with myself as a person, yet I really struggle with anxiety and clouds of depression. This book really helped me learn how to control my negative thoughts and turn them into positive affirmations about myself. In every area of your life from love, to jobs, to health and family, this book can help to create joy where it didn’t even exist before. I cannot recommend this book enough. If you have never before believed in the power of your thoughts, this will open up your eyes completely.

Light is The New Black by Rebecca Campbell

Those who are wanting to take a spiritual journey of sorts, and when I say “spiritual journey”, I mean discovering what truly makes you happy and what your purpose is. This book is for you. It is such a beautifully, inspiring read and encourages you to shine your light and be your true self, in whatever form that may take. It teaches you how to find your authenticity and how to reconnect to your soul calling. I reach to different sections of this book as and when I need to, and love every single word written. I have ordered another book by the same author, called Rise, Sister Rise and I cannot wait for it to arrive.

Raise your Vibration by Kyle Gray

I had finished Light is the New Black and after thoroughly enjoying this book, I wanted to read further about listening to my inner guidance, creating a life filled with love and positivity, and increasing my spiritual connection. I love how you can choose to read this all in one go, or read one of the 111 practices daily and progress through the book at your own pace. There are so many mantras and yoga poses that I come back to in this book. I am looking forward to reading Kyle’s new book, I believe he has just published another. He has also written lots about Angels. Now, I believe we all have angels looking out for us, but that is something I might talk about another time.

I know I usually write about makeup, but following on from my last personal post, I wanted to write something a little different, and share a different side to me. There is so much more to me than my obsession with beauty products, and that is a side of me I wish to start sharing here on my blog.

I also am totally aware, my posts are completely sporadic, but I am finally feeling inspired to create content again, so please do stay tuned for more regular posts in the future. Thank you for stopping by.

All the love.
