Get in shape without breaking a sweat!

As you all know, I do prefer my natural and organic skincare, it is just a personal preference and one I wholeheartedly preach to anyone whom will listen. However, every now and then I like a sprinkle of science, and Clinique Sculptwear sounded too good to miss out on.

We are currently drowning in an ocean of people obsessed with contouring. You all want striking jaw lines, impeccable high cheek bones and to radiate youth. Rather than draw on your pretend cheek bones with make-up, something I often get asked to demonstrate, wouldn’t it be easier to have skincare that does this for you?

Clinique Sculptwear Lift and Contour serum literally is contouring, without the make-up, in a bottle. Now at 26, this isn’t necessarily something I need to use daily, and even though I am conscious of pesky wrinkles, I am very aware that my skin is not in need of an instant lift. Nevertheless, I do like to throw this into my routine about 3 times a week at the moment. Prevention is better than jabbing my face with botox, right, right? I just love the texture of this serum, it is lightweight and silky and two pumps work their way into my skin nicely. How does it work? Using fancy pants technology containing extracts of Sweet Almond Oil, Red Algae and Soybean, all these together work on lifting and firming the face. I 100% felt an instant “tightening” action. I love the fact it also contains a coffee extract which helps to boost the skin’s natural energy. Two other ingredients I spotted and found quite interesting, bamboo and pea extract! These help work on the elastin and collagen production. I don’t think I will ever look at my frozen garden peas the same way again.

The Clinique Contouring Massage Cream mask is a treat.  You can use this two ways, either with your hands, manually massaging this cream into the skin using upward motions or you can use the new Sonic System Massage Treatment applicator – of which I totally forgot to photograph, because I am an idiot at times. It basically is a silver metal attachment for your Sonic brush and helps to massage the cream into the skin, just like giving yourself a facial at home. This cream mask contains ingredients similar to the serum including the Sweet Almond Oil, Bamboo and Pea extract but it also contains Whey Protein, which is great for firming and again boosting collagen production. Olive squalane, jojoba oil, cucumber,  barley and sunflower extract all help in moisturising the skin. I like to leave this on my skin, after massaging it in, for around 10 minutes and so far have been using it twice a week. My skin does indeed look firmer, especially around my jaw line. I think as I get older, I will really begin to see a difference when using these kinds of products.
I truly do find myself using a lot of Clinique skincare these days, a lot more than I used to. These products aside I have been using another mask, a moisturiser and a cleansing balm from them, all of which I swear by and will be writing about very soon. I have never been a fan of the 3 step system, but that again is just personal preference, I love mixing and matching my skin products up too much to stick to a specific routine. Nevertheless, everything I have been trying  has really, really impressed me and I certainly will recommend this brand to those who are yet to dabble with Clinique.

Available exclusively at John Lewis.

  • the lift and contour serum sounds incredible. I’m only 23, so just like you probably should wore too much, but better to take care of it early on than suffer from wrinkles later in life 😀
