I have been playing around with over a dozen serums recently, each day is like a pick and mix. I always used to think cleansers were my favourite part of a skincare routine, when actually, my obsession with a great serum is pretty strong right now. When I first sat down and thought of writing about my love for serums, I had lined up at least 10 serums on my desk. Now, that is just far too many to digest at any one time, so today I thought I would share with you five of my favourite serums.
Me and Antipodes are tight. In my eyes this brand can do no wrong. The Worship Superfruit Antioxidant serum* I have mentioned a few times on this blog and I am still loving it. Everything from the light texture to the smell, to the anti-aging, line fighting formula. For the record, I own and love every single one of the Antipodes serums: Hosanna, Apostle and Joyous.
I originally thought Nude Skincare Progenius Omega Treatment Milk was a moisturiser, oops, silly me. I soon learnt it was indeed a serum. I love the fact it is described as a superfood smoothie for your skin, packed with fantastic ingredients including Chia Oil. I use this in conjunction with the treatment oil for a real wow factor.
Pestle and Mortar Pure Hyaluronic Serum* reviewed here, tackles not just fine lines but dehydration too. For someone who has awfully dehydrated skin this one is an essential. I like to use this alone without a moisturiser on top before buffing in a mineral foundation.
One with a slightly slippy consistency, and reminds me of a very light facial oil, is ESPA Optimal Skin ProSerum. I got a sample of this ages ago and having used every last drop of it up; I had to get a full size. Packed with all the essential Omegas and Vitamins, I love this one because it is to help protect against premature ageing. At 26, I ensure my skincare routine has products in that will help tackle those warding wrinkles. I tend to only use this of an evening as I find it is too much for my skin underneath make-up during the day.
Last but not least, a time old serum that I always come back to: Jurlique Herbal Recovery Advanced Serum. Want to improve hydration and elasticity all at once? This one is for you. When my skin is obviously unhappy and dull, I add this into my morning routine for a perk me up.
What serums do you guys trust with your life? Tell me your secrets.

Dare I say, I’m yet to actually try any Serums. Generally I try to keep my skincare routine as simple and minimal as possible as my skin tends to react to skincare products… however, after reading this I now have a massive urge to go out and pick up a bunch to try. The Antipodes and Jurlique ones both sound fab!

I don’t actually use a serum! I have a really oily base and I feel like alongside my cleanser, toner, moisturiser, face masks etc that a serum doesn’t really fit in a the minute.. I love the sound of the Jurlique serum though, my skin can get hydrated x

  • I’m currently using the amazing one from Antipodes and it feels so lovely on my skin, plus it smells amazing. I’ve only discovered the brand recently but I’m already impressed. The two potions from Nude & ESPA sound really nice too x

Great post! I love serums too & am currently using a Kiehl’s one & also have a Dermalogica Age Smart one on the go. For night-time, it has to be Estee Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair – my HG night product! xx

  • I adore using serums but I’m never sure what moisturisers to use with them. I do love the ESPA one!
