Foundation is one of the most personal pieces of make-up you can choose and wear. Mascara for instance, you don’t have to take into consideration anything other than is it going to curl my lashes, and is it black enough. One mascara can suit so many. Foundation on the other hand, you have to think about so many different things, from what is my skin type? What colour will be my perfect match? Is it long wearing? What is the finish? Do I want liquid, cream or powder? So many questions!
So when a foundation comes along and it blows you away on every level, you know you are onto something pretty special. Introducing Too Faced Born This Way Absolute Perfection Foundation.
I could not believe my luck when this beautiful package landed on my desk, just look at that vanity case, I mean just wow. I was totally in shock when I saw that I had been sent every single shade of this brand new foundation. Too Faced is by far one of my favourite brands, so to open up a gift like this, I was a little overwhelmed.
Having already heard lots of fantastic reviews about this foundation, I had high expectations from the get go. Don’t worry though, none of these swayed me in any way on making my own decision.
The first tick off my foundation check list falls in at the oil free formulation. I have dehydrated skin, so it tends to get oily very quickly. Nevertheless, the ingredients that make up this liquid foundation, suggest to me those of you with dry skin will also be able to wear this with no trouble at all. My favourite being Coconut Water, how awesome is this? I drink coconut water whenever I can, I love the stuff, so to see that it is part of my foundation is brilliant. The coconut water will naturally replenish moisture levels and then another ingredient, Alpine Rose, is designed to brighten the skin’s appearance whilst promoting elasticity. Another cheeky favourite of mine, Mr Hyaluronic Acid, great for smoothing out skin – anything to make me look younger folks.
Coverage falls in at a good medium, which can be built up to full. I am so used to wearing natural / light foundations and tinted moisturisers, I was nervous this would be too much for me, nevertheless, I actually love the level of coverage this offers. I like to apply it to the centre of my face and buff out with my Crownbrush Flat Syntho Brush. I don’t feel the need for concealer when using this as it covers up any redness or pesky blemishes I have.
The finish is semi matte,  but more on the glowy side which I love. It says it is undetectable on the skin, which when you consider it could be a full coverage foundation, this is not too far from true. For someone who is used to tinted moisturiser, I can definitely feel it on my skin, but this does not put me off and I don’t see it as a negative.

Overall? I am so, so impressed by this foundation. I put together a look using only Too Faced products, just because I love this brand and felt the foundation needed to be completed by it’s family of bronzers, mascara and lip melts.
What do you think? Have you tried it yet?
