Body Care | The Summer Holiday Essentials
Whenever I travel, it appears I pack more beauty products than clothes. I am not even kidding, for my trip to Mallorca all of my holiday clothes were squished into a tiny hand luggage bag. Apart from a towel and a hair dryer, my actual hold luggage was packed full of beauty products. Okay, so to be fair I did have to take my professional make-up kit out with me for work, but still… I need to learn to streamline the essentials.
I thought I would talk about the products that I definitely could not go without whilst on a Summer holiday in today’s post. First of all, my treasured SPF 50+. Being so fair, I have to be extra careful as to not burn when I am in the sun. I always start off using a factor 50, this Bioderma Photoderm Mineral SPF 50+ Spray* was absolutely brilliant. It was quite a white formulation but it soon blended into the skin. For those of you with sensitive skin this would be perfect. When I have a base tan, I sometimes, if I am feeling brave, go down to a lower factor. I packed the Radical Skin Perfecting Screen SPF 30*, a dinky 40ml, a really good size and not heavy at all. I find the standard bottles of sunscreen from Boots and Superdrug are always quite bulky, and I never ever finish one bottle. So to find a brand that caters a more stylish, lightweight form of packaging is great. I used both of these sun creams, and for the first time ever, I did not burn!
Sun creams aside, Summer is all about exfoliating and moisturising. I packed my favourite The Body Shop Body Butter in Coconut Shimmer! I think the shimmer looks great in the sunshine and has a more luxurious feel. Plus you cannot go wrong with a coconut fragrance, it is just yummy! To exfoliate I packed a travel size pot of the Botanicals Organic Body Scrub.* This stuff smells amazeballs. When you have had a long day in the hot sun, there is nothing better than scrubbing your body down with a really refreshing Lemon & Ginger sugar scrub. Obviously because this is organic and completely natural I was bound to love this. Detoxifying and hydrating, a great combination to ensure your skin is looking it’s best in a bikini.
I do usually tend to neglect my feet on holiday, and they are always the first thing I burn! So this time I remembered to pack a little treat for my hot tootsies, the Temple Spa Aaahhh! Soothing Gel for Aching Feet & Limbs! This gel is sooooo soothing and for the days where I was on my feet doing make-up from morning till night, this was a life saver.
I also packed a load of hair products, but there were quite a few of these so I thought they deserved an entire post of their own! Stay tuned for this post later on this week.
