Lancome Shine Lover Lipsticks | The Review
Oh I do love Lancome. These are their new Shine Lover lipsticks* and the formula guys, is just so dreamy. As you should know by now, my lips are forever chapped and dry so to find a nice lipstick can be a daunting task.
Since discovering these however, I feel like I have found my favourite formulation, ever. They feel exactly like a lip balm, really hydrating and nourishing, all thanks to Rose Bush Oil and Hyaluronic Acid. On application, the lipstick glides across the lips, giving you a highly pigmented, sheer colour. Most importantly, they are also really long lasting. Before taking these photos, I applied the make-up and then decided I needed to grab some food. I didn’t top up the lipstick before taking the photographs, simply because there was no need – the lipstick had not budged.
You can see from the images below, where I am wearing the two shades I got to try, my lips are chapped, but thanks to this formula, they still look healthy and have a natural glow. I adore shade 120 O My Rouge, as the name suggests this is the coral – red shade and it is the perfect balance between wearing “a pop of colour” without going all out bold! I can see myself wearing this a lot throughout Summer. My new go-to daytime shade, is the second colour, 212 Twisted Beige, a really gorgeous nude. This colour enhances my natural lips and works really well with my skin tone. I will get a lot of wear out of this as it pairs well with my usual daily lip liners: Subculture, Boldly Bare and Pillow Talk (M.A.C & Tilbury).
I cannot wait to play around with more shades, I have my eyes on 344 Insta- Rose and 340 French Sourire. These will be available in May in Boots and online. I’ll race you to the counter when they go on sale.
