When I received an email from Lancome asking me to test out their new foundation, I was absolutely thrilled. I religiously buy mascaras from this brand and who else loves the glossy Juicy tubes?  With this in mind, I have never actually tried one of their foundations before.
Introducing the Lancome Miracle Cushion.
You will find a quote from Lancome saying that this is not a foundation, nor a compact, but a cushion. A renovation.
Guys, I am going to let you into a little secret, this is of course a foundation, so please do not let this confuse you. What makes this different to your usual foundation though, and why this is a truly innovative product, is the design and formula. Let me explain. Packaged in a chunky mirrored compact, hidden away under a few different lids, you will find the cushion. Locked inside this cushion, is the fluid. The foundation.
Now, we have women who love a natural complexion and will pick up a BB cream or a tinted moisturiser, or no foundation at all, and then other women that like something a bit more buildable, a fuller coverage, but still undetectable on the skin. I had never come across a product that would market to both of these stereotypes before, until now.
The idea of the Miracle Cushion is to cater for both of these women, and being a girl who regularly switches between a BB cream and a full coverage foundation, I am over the moon to find something that I can use whatever mood I am in.
Inside the compact is a smooth disc like pad, basically, a sponge. You gently press the sponge into the cushion for a natural finish, and press it down further to release more fluid for a more buildable coverage. Yes, this fluid is buildable, but you will not achieve full coverage, more of a medium coverage. I still needed concealer on prominent blemishes.
The fluid is cooling, soft, lightweight, completely different to any other formula I have tried thus far. I love how it feels and wears on my skin. The finish is radiant and dewy, not oily, which is very important for someone who gets shiny throughout the day. I would say this is suited to all skin types as it does not feel at all drying on the skin but is not too heavy for an oilier skin type.

I have to admit, I am not a huge fan of sponges. I just don’t find them to be very hygienic, so I did wonder whether I could use a brush with the compact. I have been using a flat syntho bronzer brush from Crownbrush, which has a circular flat base and is the perfect shape and size for pushing down into the airy cushion. It picks up the fluid beautifully and applies the foundation seamlessly. If I need to carry the foundation around during the day for touch ups. I know I can just use the sponge that is inside it.
In the photographs above I have gone for a fuller, medium coverage, rather than a natural finish. You can really see how glowy the finish is. My skin looks healthy. I am wearing shade 01 of the six shades available, all of which cater from very fair like me to darker complexions. I am so, so impressed with this foundation. One final note. How do you know if it is running out? I have absolutely no idea, as in a traditional bottle you can see the liquid begin to disappear. So I will keep you updated on this. Don’t worry though, another great pointer about this product, you do not have to buy the entire compact again, as it comes with refills.
It will be available from February 11th for £29.50. Do let me know if you try this foundation, I would love to hear what you guys think of it too.

Wow, what an absolutely lovely, flattering finish on your skin! Definitely going to give this a peek 🙂

  • This looks like the Korean BB cushion foundations. I love them so much and the finish it gives is really good. I’m interested to see how this Lancome one compared with the one I already have. At least its easier for me to purchase rather than from asia 🙂

Great review. Have a nice day ♥

  • I’m intrigued by this but wondering how the hygiene aspect would work, particularly as a kit product x

  • I would love to have this product but I’m trying to finish up the fondations and the BB creams I have right now.
It looks lovely on you and you have such nice eyes. Cheers!

I don’t like the full coverage of a heavy foundation and a BB cream doesn’t give me enough coverage. I’ve been using this product for 3 months and I’m very happy about it!
