Pinterest | If You’re Pinning You’re Winning

Pinterest | If You're Pinning You're Winning
Pinterest has become quite the obsession of mine. Hands up if you are with me on this! If you have no idea what I am talking about – where have you been ? Pinterest is basically an online collection of moodboards, all created by you. You can “pin” your inspiration from anywhere on the world wide web and “repin” from other “Pinners” boards. You can follow these Pinners, and your friends too!
There is SO much more to Pinterest and I am only just getting to grips with it, but trust me, when you dip your toes in, you will soon want to dive in head first. With thousands and thousands of photographs to flick through, you can end up spending hours on there…
I blame Gemma for this. Gemma is a wonderful beauty blogger, of Miss Makeup Magpie. Earlier last year, Gemma and I got chatting and at some point the topic of Pinterest fell upon us. Gemma told me how I could use Pinterest to drive traffic to my blog, and explained a few interesting pointers to help me get started. Recently, this girl hit a massive 150,000 followers, so she truly knows what she is talking about. This really inspired me to take Pinterest, as a social networking platform, a little more seriously, and it is not a chore at all, as who doesn’t love looking at pretty photos?
Fellow bloggers, you can pin your own photographs to Pinterest, directly from your website, and if this gets repinned, then you are driving traffic back to your blog.
I noticed a lot of traffic was coming from Pinterest,  but I had no idea why as I hadn’t even signed up at this point. One graphic I created haphazardly, on a really old post, still to this day sends me my most traffic. It has been repinned by this person nearly 8,000 times.
Pinterest | If You're Pinning You're Winning
Boring statistic and traffic talk aside, I thoroughly enjoy scrolling through my Pinterest feed, and try to spend 30 minutes to an hour each day pinning images I like. I am going to share each fortnight my latest pins so you can see what I have been up to over there. If you have an obsession with dreamy interiors, particularly bathrooms, as well as a burning urge to travel, oh and an addiction to hair…cupcakes… cats… yeah you get the point, head on over and check out my page. I’m the same as you, after hearing Gemma talk about her success on Pinterest I decided to really make a go of mine (I barely touched it before) so gave it a revamp at the end of November and have pinned every day since. So far I’ve gone from around 76 followers to currently 356 and now I’m completely addicted! x
