Models Own Colour Chrome Collection | My Thoughts
Models Own, are literally owning the bloggosphere right now. Colour Chrome Liquid Metal Effect nail varnish* is popping up left, right and centre. When five of the ten shades landed on my desk, they certainly brightened up my day. I even considered popping on a pair of sunglasses…
My very initial thoughts, were along the lines of: I will never, ever be seen dead wearing these shades. Eurgh.
The garish, high shine, chrome packaging is totally radical, but it also unsettled me a little. I mean, I am so not cool enough to wear something that resembles liquid metal. Regardless, I got home, and began to work on the swatches (see nail wheel above) and in doing so, my opinion turned completely on its head.
The on-trend molten metal nail polishes have more of a muted foil effect, rather than the tacky finish I had so readily assumed. I really dislike admitting I am wrong. I really did not expect to like these. I actually love them. As usual with Models Own formulas, the polish goes on superlatively, with complete ease and no streaking whatsoever. I used two coats to achieve the finished look, but would always apply three when wearing them myself, as I have a dreadful habit of chipping my nails.
From left to right on the wheel above, I own Rose, Olive, Cerise, Mauve and Indigo.
My favourite definitely is the Chrome Rose, followed by Mauve and Indigo. I do love them all, and would indeed wear them all. In fact, I am going to dig out my nail varnish remover right this second and paint my nails all fresh and what not. Wish me luck, I have the patience of a … think of a funny metaphor… patience of a…. gnat? Is that the saying? Who knows.

Chrome Rose is definitely my favourite of the swatches! I assumed these would be one of those streaky formulas that is a nightmare to get a good finish with, but they sound the complete opposite! xx
