The lovely team over at Boohoo asked me to put together a Halloween Make-up tutorial for their very own blog, which is kinda cooool. Here it is, a really quick, super easy “Walking Dead
make-up look. It literally will take you no time at all, using my step by step
photographs as a guideline.

What you need:
Black and grey eye shadow
Red eye shadow
Green face paint
White face paint
Brown face paint
Brown brow pencil
Black eye liner

First of all I used my Maybelline Colour Stay cream eyeshadow
in grey. I just applied this using
my finger tip. Don’t be too neat, it is okay to be messy. I generously took
this colour all over my lid and right across my eyebrows.

Next you want to start adding
depth and colour to your eyes. I picked up a few of my M.A.C eyeshadows in Espresso,
Cranberry and Scene. With a soft blending brush I swept a layer of my brown
eyeshadow, Espresso, again all over the lid and buffing it into the inner
corner of my eye. You want to build depth and shadow right in that inner corner
against your nose. I blended this colour right out underneath and below my eye,
filling in the area just above the orbital bone. I then took the grey shade, Scene,
and swept this underneath my brow bone and again over the lid building up a
depth of colour. You want the eye area to look dark and bruised – think dying zombie.

Next I took Cranberry, a
beautiful deep red, berry shade, and I popped this just above the socket line,
mainly in the centre. I chose this particular hue because I knew it would make
my eyes pop. I marked some “faux” brow hairs out and added definition
using a Kiko Brow Pen in brown. I chose not to use mascara but to just add
black eyeliner using a mix of both M.A.C
Fluid line
in Black Track and Too Faced Bulletproof eyeliner. I went
around both the top and lower lash line as well as going over the top and
bottom water lines.

Once you are happy with the way
your eyes are looking, you can move onto the next step. Grab a sponge or a
beauty blender and take a little bit of green paint. Time to channel your inner
Hulk ladies and gentleman, as we want our skin to have a green tint to it. Dab,
dab dab this all over, again do not worry about it looking perfect, and we
still want some of your natural skin coming through. Take this colour over your
ears and down your neck too.

Now we are starting to see it
slowly come together folks. This bit is probably my favourite section. Pull a
funny face in the mirror and hold it (and pray the wind doesn’t change). Taking
a dark brown red shade – I am using a customised paint from Superstar
Facepaints, but you could use a lip liner or eyeshadow with a wet brush – you
want to define any expression lines your face naturally creates. So for me, I
get a little furrowed bit in between my eyes, and my cheeks create funny lines
near my nose. I also contoured my cheek bones and added some depth underneath
my lips and above my brows. I used a clean blending brush to buff away any
harsh lines and to add to the overall finish. Build it up slowly and have fun
with it.

Nearly there now, this stage is
all about adding little details and highlighting the skin. Yes, even the
walking dead contour and highlight. Using a flat foundation brush I added
little bits of white paint over the skin and blended this in gently, I mainly
did this down the centre of my face and above my cheek bones. I then went back
in with a very small detail brush with the deep brown/red paint and started to
add cuts and depth to the bruised skin. I then decided to go over my brows with
the white paint using a spoolie brush – you could just use an old mascara wand.
