No7 Beautifully Matte Foundation & Primer | My Thoughts

I am not afraid to state that I am a make-up snob. Sure am kids. Especially, ESPECIALLY when it comes to choosing a foundation.

It is a very rare sight, myself down a drugstore aisle, fondling the foundation samples. Something that happens once every other blue moon, usually when one is most likely broke or desperate. They just never seem to cut the mustard.

Nevertheless, I was dying for a new matte finish foundation as my oily skin was wiping out anything I buffed onto my face. I took to Twitter and asked you guys to recommend me a foundation. This was a few months ago now.

You recommended the No7 Beautifully Matte Foundation, and boy am I glad I took your advice. It is my go–to foundation at the moment, yup, can you believe that after all the fuss I just made? The finish is stunning, it slides on effortlessly and lasts on the skin shine free for at least 12 hours.  It doesn’t sit in my pores or wrinkles and just makes my complexion look lovely. I always worry matte foundations would age me, but this gives off a within the skin glow. It also contains salicylic acid, so if like me you suffer from break outs, then I would definitely suggest you give this a shot.  For the application I tend to buff this into my skin using my Crownbrush SS014 Flat Bronzer as it is the perfect density and size, plus it is super soft too. Medium to full coverage, long lasting and a great shade range too.

To go hand in hand with the foundation, I picked up the No 7 Beautifully Matte Make-up Base too. I featured this on Instagram and a lot of you said I had made the wrong choice. You know what, you are right. I began by loving this primer, and used it daily, then as time went by, and I used it more, it would roll on my skin and just not allow my foundation to sit right. I now will only use this on the odd occasion. The hunt for the perfect primer continues…
