L’Occitane Aromachology Collection | My Thoughts
I
have had these products from the L’Occitane Aromachology collection for a little while and have
been meaning to write this review for maybe a month? You know what it’s like
when your “Drafts” start building up resulting in a minor melt down. Yeah,
that. It was only when I was in the shower this morning, using my delightful
shower gel from this very collection, that I thought, oh bugger, I better get
this post up. So without further a due, let’s get on with it shall we?

What
on earth is Aromachology?
on earth is Aromachology?
According
to L’Occitane, it is a science that studies the influence of scents on
well-being and harmony. The art of blending essential oils to create a relaxing
or revitalizing environment by drawing on the incredible richness in the
aromatic plants of Provence and the Mediterranean Basin. This has been a passion
of founder, Olivia Baussan, and has in
fact inspired the brand’s philosophy since 1976.

This
collection is divided up into 3 different rituals: Bathtime. Bedtime and
Invigorating. Such a perfect way of looking at our time spent getting ready in
the morning for work or getting ready for bed.
We shouldn’t see this time as a chore, feel stressful or an feel like it is an effort, we should all take this time to look after our well-being. These products from L’Occitane are
designed to help you do this.

So
back to the shower gel that I used this morning, this falls into the
Invigorating Ritual category. We often need a little boost to recharge the body
and mind, and five essential oils from the Mediterranean can help us do this:
Lemon, Rosemary, Grapefruit, Mint and Orange. The Revitalising Shower Gel*,
really does help to wake me up and washes away any negative energy I may be
feeling. It smells too good to not smile. It’s really soothing and gentle on
the skin, not at all stripping and a little goes a long way. I am not the
biggest fan of orange in any form of beauty product, but surprisingly I have
really enjoyed using this shower gel.

My
favourite ritual: Bedtime. L’Occitane have ran scientific tests to confirm the
effectiveness, and the importance, of having a soothing effect in a bedtime
routine. To be honest, I don’t need a scientific test to tell me that if I feel
nice and relaxed before bed I am going to sleep better, but it is interesting
to read the studies that took place. I was sent the Relaxing Massage Body Oil* to try, containing Sweet Almond Oil, and a blend of essential oils including
Sweet Orange, Rosemary, Lavendar, Bergamot and Mandarin. I haven’t used this as
much as I should, as I was waiting on my boyfriend to give me a proper massage.
Ladies, here is my tip, DO NOT wait on anyone else to ensure you have a great
night sleep. With the promise of relaxing the body, releasing stress whilst nourishing
and hydrating your skin, I could not leave this untouched. I have since used
this myself, and my god it is delightful. I would only use this of an evening
as it truly does relax you and ensure a good night sleep.

Onto
another favourite ritual of mine, is Bathtime. Breathe in, breathe out, relax.
These Relaxing Bath Salts* are awesome and I am seriously running low, having
used them so often. If you like to unwind in the tub, then I would highly recommend
these salts. Light a few candles, get yourself a glass of red wine and sit in
the bath: Heaven.

Last
but not least, another product from the Invigorating range, and one that has
not left my hand bag on receiving it. Meet Revitalising Roll On*. Pop a little
bit of this onto your pulse points (wrists, temple and back of the neck) and it
is a handy little perk me up. I often feel sluggish right around lunchtime in
work, and having this on me is great.

I
am yet to be disappointed by L’Occitane, I seriously love all of the products I
have ever tried, and that is rare for a brand. I am dying to try the Bedtime Ritual
Relaxing Pillow Mist and the Perfumed Sachets. Think I will have to pop online and treat myself.
