From flannels, to konjac sponges… to the Magnitone Lucid.
Two years ago my boyfriend bought me a Clarisonic Classic, (review here) so I already know the benefits of what basically is a fancy expensive facial toothbrush. Saying that, as soon as my Clarisonic needed a new head, it went straight back into the box and I kind of forgot about it.
When I was kindly sent the Magnitone Lucid* to try I was intrigued to see how a more budget friendly gadget would compare. Here I have Aqua Green, but there are 3 other colours also available (pink, yellow or blue) and it retails for £69.99. That is less than half the cost of my Clarisonic, which was £155
So what are my first impressions?
Light in weight, and the design simple, suggesting that is easy to use – and it really is, anyone could use this. I also really like the WiFi Travel Charger that comes along with it, a great addition. Being fully waterproof it is great to take in the shower or along with you in the tub.
There are two functions to choose from: Deep Clean or Sensitive. I have been using it mainly on Sensitive mode, simply because I have been frightened of my skin purging and breaking out – this does not happen to everyone,  but I know my skin and  it is extremely temperamental. I have also kept it on sensitive mode as I have been taking part in the #7DayChallenge, something of which Magnitone promises will give you softer, clearer skin, just by using it for two minutes every day. I felt using Deep Clean daily would be far too much on my skin. I am nearly at the end of this challenge and will film my full report over on my YouTube channel. So far, so good though guys. My skin feels and looks great.
So how does it work exactly?
Using electromagnetic technology the Magnitone Lucid pulses 10,000 times a minute. Thus unclogging any pores, sweeping away dead skin cells therefore preparing your skin for better absorption of products. I have been using this with my La Roche Posay Three Step Anti Blemish System (review coming soon) and my skin has improved incredibly.
I am suitably impressed with this gadget, everything from the packaging to the results I am seeing so far, have been great. It has easily become part of my daily skincare routine and I will make sure I buy a new head for it when the time comes.
To summarise…
Magnitone Lucid have got the price spot on and I think it appeals to a much wider market than that of it’s more expensive competitors.  It looks and feels fabulous, it is kind and gentle to my skin, and the battery life makes my iPhone battery look ridiculous.
