Love Me Beauty Box | August Edition | My Thoughts

Love Me Beauty* took my beauty box subscription virginity.  I had never before subscribed to or tried a beauty box. I have always sat on the fence on whether to try them out or not. I am so fussy with my make-up and skincare it has always deemed a pretty pointless concept for someone who is so picky about what she uses. Saying this, now that I have tried the August Edition, I think they may have just won me over. All of the brands featuring in this monthly box, I had never heard of any of them, but after trying each one out – I love them all! Had I never got the chance to try this box, I might not have tried these brands. I have since warmed more to the idea of the beauty subscription box after this, so thank you Love Me Beauty

So, what are my thoughts on my first ever beauty box?

The packaging is awesome, I mean just look at all that fun, springy blue stuff. I opened up the compact cardboard box and was pleasantly surprised to see bright, colourful packaging and a little menu to accompany the contents. You are onto a winner when a product puts an instant smile on your chops.
Having already chosen from 1 of 3 menus I already knew what products to expect. This, I think is what makes this beauty box different to so many others I have seen. I love the idea that you can pick the products you are going to receive, plus the fact they are full sized products not just samples, makes it even better.

I love multi use oils and this one smells amazing. The Oriflame Swedish Spa Beauty Wonder Oil* is jam packed with antioxidants, as well as containing coconut oil, sweet almond oil, ginger and vitamin e. My boyfriend spotted it can be used as a massage oil. If he thinks I am trying it out on him first, he has another thing coming. Jog on sunshine. It can also be used as a hair oil, or even be used in your bath. I have tried it as a pre-shampoo oil which I really like, as it smells amazing and my hair felt squeaky clean after including this in my hair routine. RRP £8.45

I still cannot get over how pigmented and gorgeous this Mask Mineral Eyeshadow is! Lucky Penny* is the shade I got, a rich bronze copper colour. Perfect for making my eye colour pop. You literally need the teeniest tiniest amount and it blends out seamlessly. I have started using more mineral make-up recently, and I am now keen to try more of these highly pigmented shadows. What I particularly love is the creamy texture and the fact you can build the shadow up to a deep intensity without it looking dry or flaky. I think I will be using this to create a night time glam look, with some black eye liner…. see I am getting excited about this so this shows what a great product it is. RRP £14.49

Out of the entire box, this A La Carte Smudge Proof Eyebrow Definer in Blonde* got me most excited. I do love a good brow product. Just look at that nib, it is a little bit sexy isn’t it? I love how luxurious this brand feels and even though I was worried that the shade may carry too much of a red tone, it actually suits my skin tone perfectly. The brush strokes look so natural, even though you feel like you are using a posh felt tip. I definitely would buy this again even at the whopping price of £23.

Lip pencils are my secret obsession. I have become quite addicted to a good natural lip liner. I am so lazy and just prefer to pencil in my lip line followed by colouring my lips in without the need for lipstick and a gloss layered on top. I love this Mirabella Lip Luster Liner in “Shy“*, it is such a pretty pinky nude and enhances my natural lip colour. I have a feeling this will replace my usual daily go-to lip liner, M.A.C Cosmetics Boldly Bare. A super creamy texture, but not too soft so you can still create a strong line. I have found it to be really long lasting even after eating my lunch I can still see it on my lips. RRP £10.50

Love Me Beauty Box* has seriously impressed me and I plan to subscribe!! Here I have received nearly £60 worth of treats and it would have only cost me £10 to receive the box. It really is worthwhile! Have you tried Love Me Beauty ?
