Steamcream is my new best beauty find. Why?
Last week I introduced lemon infused water into my diet. I would have it in hot water of a morning and then throughout the day pop a few lemon slices into my water bottle. I had spent weeks reading blog posts telling me all about the unreal benefits of this regime and I was ready to embrace this health kick, this detox.
NOT ONE, single blog post told me about the possibilty of my skin purging. What is skin purging? It is when your body after a single or a few drastic changes flares up and spits out all of the toxins. This may not be the scientific or dermatological explanation but this is my description. My skin overnight literally was covered in minor acne. All along my jawline my usual hormonal breakouts became really lumpy, red sore and weeping. I had spots all over my face, in places that I never knew was possible for a spot to appear. I had two above my eyebrow that decided to bleed when I cleansed with a hot cloth. Pretty sight aye? I was MORTIFIED and spent a good hour crying. I felt all of the hardwork that I had put into my skincare routine, had just been wiped away with a few glugs of this lemon water.
According to a few forums online, skin purging can happen, and it will clear up 2-3 days after your detox, if you are lucky! It can take weeks, even months for your skin to settle. Well I immediately stopped drinking the lemon water, as I felt my body had clearly got rid of enough toxins and in doing so I had also unbalanced the pH level of my skin
This is where Steamcream sorted me out. I had been using it every morning and night for a handful of days as a facial moisturiser in place of my usual moisturisers , as I do when trying out any new facial product. I hadn’t read any information about it, I just knew it was a natural moisturiser. I am a firm believer in less is more and I much prefer using natural products over chemical injected ones. So, how did it help me? What are the results? My skin, right now as I am writing, is a little bit scabby and dry yes, but it is CLEAR. It is free of inflamed, sore, itchy spots and the redness has faded to a near nonexistance.
All I did was switch up my skincare. I stopped using fancy cleansers and used my Organic Coconut Oil (blog post here) and introduced Steamcream to help rebalance the chaos.
So enough about me, enough moaning. Let us lift the lid on Steamcream.
It is renowned for it’s beautifully designed tins and loved for its natural ingredients and high quality product. Steamcream is all about simplicity. Suitable for all skin types and hailed as the “miracle moisturiser” due to it’s healing properties.

Oatmeal Infusion gently sooths sensitive skin, Almond Oil soothes and softens, Chamomile Blue Essential Oil is a natural antiseptic with antibacterial qualities to help prevent breakouts. It also contains Orange Blossom Absolute and Orange Flower water that both help balance sebum production in oily complexions, yet for dry skin they help with the production – marvellous! Cocoa butter and other essential oils complete the ingredient list, all of which add up to being the ultimate, effective multi tasker.

You can use it as a facial moisturiser, a nourishing face or body mask, turn it into an exfoliator by adding oatmeal or even as a shaving balm. These are only a few of the many ways you can use this, we would be here all day if  I wrote the full list…

For £12.50 this really is a ruddy bargain and something that will remain a staple in my bathroom. I think these make great presents for friends and family, and the designs are so pretty you can keep the tin afterwards to put small trinkets inside.

Steamcream,  a Summer essential for sure, but an all year round must-have, definitely.
