A few weeks ago I took to Twitter to ask my fellow Tweeters for some help. I needed YOUR help in choosing a drugstore mascara. I hadn’t needed to buy a new mascara for a while as I have had a few to finish off, so I was slightly (an understatement) out of the loop as to which one was the BEST of the bunch.

I did not realise just how big this bunch of recommendations would be, the list was endless, and actually I was quite impressed as to how many great mascaras were now available from the likes of Boots and Superdrug! The one that came up time and time again was this L’Oreal Paris Mega Volume Collagen Miss Manga Mascara – bit of a mouthful? I know Megan from Wonderful You uses this, so I was only expecting good things.

I think the results speak for themselves really. Nevertheless, I will tell you a little about this mascara and why I love it so much. Inspired by the Japanese Manga trend, this mascara has been designed to give you doll like, defined, luscious lashes, just like the bright eyed Manga girls. The packaging reflects this – pink and typically girly, yet modern and sleek, a little bit sci fi.
The unique formula contains collagen spheres which are designed to amplify and plump up the top and lower lashes. I mean, I discovered entirely new lash hairs using this bad boy. The conical wand is fab and really helps define the lashes without clumping. Separation is key to the look achieved with this product. It curls the lashes as well as lengthens, and is really long lasting – without being difficult to remove. I cannot stand mascaras that literally do not budge, I like them to stay all day, not smudge or drop, but when I want to take it off, it will do so with ease.
The only negative, if a negative at all, I do not understand the need for this 360 degree bendy wand bit feature, I mean, it never once moved when I used this so therefore I am not entirely sure how to get the most from this unusual design element.
I bought this for £8.99 which is a fair price, considering, to my horror, other drugstore mascaras fall more on the expensive, luxury side of prices.

What mascaras do you use? Any recommendations?
