Karlie Kloss Hair & Make-up Tutorial

 Hey Guys!
Today I am throwing out a really super quick and easy hair & make-up tutorial inspired by the one and only Karlie Kloss.
I was watching an episode of Gossip Girl last night and I saw her make a cameo appearance, I had forgotten how beautiful she is. If you haven’t heard of her she is most famous for strutting her stuff down the catwalk for Victoria’s Secret.

Her classic style is to have wavy, textured hair and natural make-up. This type of look is great for Summer, as you don’t want to take ages getting ready, not when you can be spending time outside in the sunshine!

Let’s talk through How to get Karlie Kloss hair first…
1) Blast your hair off with a hair dryer, not forgetting to prep with some form of heat protectant. I used John Frieda Go Curlier Heat Activated Spray.
2) You can use a curling wand like my Tigi Pro Curling Wand or any old curling tong will do.
3) Take one inch sections of hair, depending on hair thickness, and vertically wrap around a vertical wand. Horizontal curling would create an entirely different effect, so ensure you hold the wand up right and wrap the hair away from your face.
4) Hold each section of hair around the wand for 4-5 second, no longer.

5) Once curled, you want to add some texture to the waves. I chose to use my Lee Stafford My Big Fat Texturised Hair Super Spray! It is hair spray, wax, and sea salt in one! Like, the most perfect texturising spray I have ever come across. To use this specific product you need to give it a good shake to activate it and then I sprayed 1-2 pumps into the palms of my hands before rubbing through my hair and into the roots.
Hair… Done! Easy Peasy.

For the make-up…
I wanted my skin to replicate Karlie Kloss’s natural, dewy glowy skin so for this I used 1-2 pumps of Crownbrush Illuminating Highlighter, very similar to strobe cream but much more pearlescent! I applied this over the top of my moisturiser all over my face. I then buffed in my Antipodes Mineral Foundation Powder in the shade Pale Pink. I used a teeny tiny amount of Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation for some pin point concealing!
For the cheeks, I only used one product, and this was my Illamasqua Cream Blusher in Dixie! This is such a great formula and the perfect shade for creating the illusion of flushed cheeks.
Brows, I used my new favourite products from Anastasia Beverly Hills, both the DipBrow Pomade in Blonde and Brow Wiz in Medium Ash. Both of these are available to buy in the UK from Cult Beauty.

Onto the eyes, I used a paint pot from M.A.C Cosmetics in the shade Indiawood, a coppery, golden bronze, I used my finger to pat this all over the lid to create a base to work on top of. I then used my new Essence All About Nude palette, a brand which I will be doing a review on soon. I chose the darkest pinky purple shade and patted this across my eye lid, blending out into the socket. Before applying the same colour to the lower lash line, I lined the lower lash line with the Essence Long Lasting Eye pencil in Hot scorch, a golden bronze shade. I then used the lightest eyeshadow from the palette, a pearly white, in the inner corner of my eye. To finish I curled my lashes with my Shu Uemura curlers and gave them a coating of Essence The Lash Curler.
Last but not least, for the lips, I applied some Niva Rose Lip Balm, followed by lining my lips with Boldly Bare from M.A.C and adding a dab of Benefit Dandelion gloss.

Overall, this entire look took me no more than 20 minutes to put together! My hair was done in 10 minutes and my make-up took no time at all!! This look would be great for days out in Summer, going to work or just a change to your usual daily make-up routine!
What do you guys think?
