Selfridges Trish McEvoy Azure Collection Launch

When I grow up I want to be… Trish McEvoy.

Selfridges Beauty Hall is a little slice of make-up heaven, as I weaved my way around the counters, I made a mental wish list of everything I wanted. Feverishly clutching my purse trying not to spend unnecessary amounts of pennies I looked out for Laura from Laura Lou Beauty. We were there awaiting to go up to the HIX Champagne & Caviar bar oh laa laa – for the launch of Trish McEvoy’s Azure Make-up Planner, which is coming out in May.
Upon entering the bar we were greeted by the loveliest group of people, the Trish McEvoy New York marketing team. Eleanor, the pretty face behind the invitation introduced herself and made us both feel very welcome. I probably had the biggest smile on my face at this point due to the fact I couldn’t hide neither my excitement or my nerves. This was only my second blogger event so I was puuurrr-etty nervous.
The event itself was based around the new Azure Collection, in particular, a gorgeous Make-up Planner. On arrival we received a goody bag containing this very planner, however it had been personalized with our initials, such a thoughtful touch.
Colourful, sweet tasting cocktails, miniature scones and cupcakes were passed around all evening making the atmosphere feel very fun and friendly. Flowers and candles adorned every surface making the room that little bit extra special.
The key focus of the evening revolved around the different steps of the make-up planner. Together, Laura and I, we went through each step, talked through by lovely make-up artists from New York. First we were shown the concealer, and then the eye primer, and so on and so on. Along the way we also got to pick up a tinted moisturiser and an eyebrow pencil – both of which I am totally head over heels for. I picked up lots of make-up tips and tricks from the make-up artists on hand and it was great having a chance to play with the new products.
One of my favourite parts of the evening included sitting down and having a real girly chat, discussing perfumes with one of the Trish McEvoy trainers. We got to try all of the beautiful perfumes and mix our own “layered” scent. I loved fragrance number 9, Blackberry & Vanilla Musk.
The pièce de résistance of the evening was getting to meet the amazing lady behind the very brand itself, Trish McEvoy. What. A. Woman. I can not get over how down to earth and wonderfully genuine this lady is. We got to have a chat about the collection and also find out more about the brand and it’s beginnings, it was my highlight of the night.
Laura shared a story with Trish, one that I had told her earlier in the evening, of how the very first make-up brush set I bought had been from Trish McEvoy, and was actually not for myself but a gift to my mum. It was in my eyes, a “posh, grown up” set and at £175 my first “big girl” Christmas present from daughter to mother. Trish loved hearing this and generously decided to give my mum a new brush set too! I could not believe it.
So that evening, we left with not only the make-up planner, but a perfume of our choice, a candle, a brush set and a hefty amount of skincare. Take the luxurious gifts aside, of which I very much appreciate, but to get to give Trish McEvoy a hug and to see how passionate she is about her brand really was what made the event so amazing.
I have an entirely new found appreciation for Trish McEvoy, and will forever hold a bundle of love in my heart for this brand. I cannot wait to show you in detail the make-up planner and discuss the other pieces of make-up/skincare I got, so keep your eyes peeled for these to come over the next few weeks.
Thanks for having me Trish McEvoy and Selfridges. You were awesome.
