Lush Cosmetics Valentine's Day collection 2014

Hello lovelies.

Late last week I received the most awesome package from Lush Cosmetics. I was so excited when this huge parcel landed on my desk, so you can imagine my face when I opened it up to discover the goodies inside. Lush Ltd very kindly sent me a selection of their Valentine’s Day collection to try out as well as their brand new book: Danger Cosmetics To Go.
I am a HUGE fan of Lush, my skincare routine would not be without their beautiful products, I could spend an absolute fortune in this store, and walk away with bath bombs coming out of my ears. If you haven’t tried anything from them yet, I would highly recommend you do, and this Valentine’s Day collection is the perfect excuse.

Danger! Cosmetics To Go by Mira Manga £19.95*
I am such a bookworm, so out of all the treats in my parcel, this immediately took my favourite spot. This book describes the rise and fall of the company that came before Lush, Cosmetics to Go, a beauty mail order company. I am still only a third of the way through this, and last night I fell asleep whilst trying to finish it. So far it is brilliant, and even when I was only a couple of pages in I knew I would enjoy this book. I am looking forward to getting to the part where you read about the inventions of bath bombs and shampoo bars! Did you know that the pioneers behind Cosmetics to Go also provided The Body Shop with their best selling Coconut hand and body lotion! I have used The Body Shop Coconut body lotion for years so to discover the makers of it in this book was fascinating.

Lush Cosmetics Prince Charming Shower Gel

Prince Charming Shower Gel £9.25*
LOVE the name of this shower gel, it just makes you smile doesn’t it? Reading the delectable description on the label, I could not wait to try this out. THIS DOES NOT DISAPPOINT. If you like sweet fragrances, or happen to have a sweet tooth like I do, then this will be right up your street. Whilst lathering up in the shower, the first scent the gel reminded me of was weirdly, Terry’s Chocolate Orange, next came the arrival of pomegranate and vanilla, shortly followed by the marshmallow root. I kid you not, this is like a candy floss machine in a bottle. Y’know how smells can trigger off a memory or make you travel to somewhere you have once been? This shower gel reminds me of walking through a fairground, and spotting the ice cream stall with all the candy floss and sugary sweets. This may not be for everyone, but if I could shower in this all day long, I genuinely would. I love everything about it and the fact my skin felt silky soft and smelt totally scrumptious after using it, what is there not to love?
Ok, there is one downside… it leaves you with a huge craving for a pic’n’mix.
I’m guessing this will be limited edition for Valentine’s which makes me sad, so I guess I better get stocking up.

The Kiss Lip Gloss £5.75*
I haven’t yet tried any of the make-up range from Lush, other than an illuminating tinted cream (which is called Feeling Younger and is bloody awesome). I totally forgot to take a picture of the inside of this tin, but basically, it is a baby pink shade and feels as soft as a feather. With it being called a gloss, I expected a sticky texture, but this is nothing like that. It is more of a super creamy, lightweight balm with a baby pink pigment. It gives the lips such a lovely pop of colour and I am not even one for wearing pink! I would still need to put on a lip balm underneath as my lips dry out with whatever I put on them, but other than that I think it is a lovely little product!

Lush Cosmetics Close To You Massage Bar

Close To You Massage Bar £5.50*
This is currently sitting in the drawer of my bedside table, and everytime I open it, I get a waft of this massage bar. Inspired by the jammy dodger biscuit, it has a heart shaped fondant centre. Vanilla is by far one of my favourite smells, so this alongside shea butter and olive oil, together make a perfect combination. I am excited to use this as I once had a Lush treatment, which involved using a massage bar and the entire experience was awesome. Whilst on that note, I would highly recommend heading to one of the Lush SPA’s, you can check out my experience by reading my post here.
Lush Cosmetics Neon Love Gift Set

Neon Love £17.95*
Lush always have gorgeously packaged products and this one is just fab. With this Neon Love Gift set you get a mixture of  4 treats designed to ensure Valentine’s Day is filled with romance, excitement and plenty of fun! This is a package designed to be shared, which is such a lovely idea.

Lush Cosmetics Neon Love Gift Set

It contains Neon Love Soap, which has been made in an extra special heart shaped mould – this smells yummy! Red Fun is like play dough for adults, you can craft your own shapes and signs, and once finished playing you can use it as a bath foam, or to wash your hair and body with! Then there is the From Dusk Till Dawn massage bar, which Lush says is for “romantic antics before and after showering”, and looks like a giant nipple…
And last but not least Turkish Delight! This is the only one I have tried out of the four, as the others I will test out, as recommended, with the other half this weekend. Don’t worry we are not one of these cheesy, romantic couples, so it will be a case of me begging him to give me a massage and him stealing all of the soap. Anyway, back to the shower smoothie… this stuff smells divine. I used it last night in the bath and oh, my, it was just delightful. The texture was so different to anything I have used before, not a lotion or a gel and not a thick cream either. It felt like whipped mousse! A little goes a long way and there is no need to moisturise afterwards. I definitely will be buying this in the future!!

Love Locket Bath Bomb £6.95*
I am obsessed with bath bombs, I get so excited watching them transform in the tub – oh the little things, I do need to get out more. I haven’t used this yet, as I am not allowed – the boyfriend is insisting he wants to use this. He makes out he is all macho, when really he is a big marshmallow. I do not like sharing my bath bombs, but seeing as it is Valentine’s Day soon, I suppose I have no choice but to be nice. Inspired by heart shaped lockets you wear on a necklace, the same way you open them to see a secret photograph inside, you have to crack this bath bomb open to reveal a smaller bath bomb filled with agar hearts!! Typing this I am so tempted to go and run a bath.
Last night I used a bath bomb which turned the water yellow and smelt of cinnamon, it popped and crackled like a bowl of rice krispies, but this Love Locket bomb may just top that experience.

As usual, Lush Cosmetics did not disappoint me. I absolutely adored this collection as you can no doubtedly tell, but the only way you will believe me is if you go and try it yourself.
I think I am trying to convert everyone to Lush….
First my boyfriend, then my younger sisters, and Megan from Wonderful You… who else is going to climb on board the Lush train??
Over and out…
