Clarisonic Classic Sonic Skin Cleansing | The Review
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
I
had wanted a Clarisonic for AAAAAAAAAAAAAAGES! Seriously, ever since
these came into stock at SpaceNK I had wanted to get my hands on one! I
always found an excuse not to splurge on one of these expensive toys,
so when Father Christmas left me one of these under the tree (via my
boyfriend) I literally could not stop smiling and dancing around like a
mad woman.
If you have never heard of the Clarisonic, then get with the programme and fast kids.

What is a Clarisonic?
If a customer asked me this my reply would usually be “Erm, a facial electric toothbrush“.
To be honest that is still the best answer I have. Clarisonic wanted to create something for skincare the way technology revolutionised the way we look after our teeth and gums using an electronic device.
While cleansing is the first step in any skin
care ritual, it is often overlooked. Typical manual cleansing can leave
behind dirt and oil trapped in pores. This build-up can damage the appearance
of your skin , keeping your skin looking dull. I have always been a firm believer in double cleansing, the Clarisonic takes this cleansing ritual to a whole new level. Clarisonic Cleansing uses a patented sonic frequency of more than 300 movements per second to gently, yet thoroughly remove significantly more makeup, dirt and sebum than cleansing with your hands alone. Removing these impurities has been shown to better prepare your skin for other products and allows a better absorption of your favourite skincare products.I am also a firm believer of treating your skincare as an investment. Now, if I wasn’t lucky enough to have been given this as a present, I definitely would have seen this as an amazing investment to make. Why?

Research has shown that Clarisonic cleaning:
- Removes more makeup than manual cleansing.
- Leads to greater absorption of Vitamin C when compared to manual cleansing.
- Hleps to improve the appearance of skin tone, texture, elasticity and firmness.
- Makes skin look and feel softer, smoother and healthier.
- Reduces the appearance of visible pores.
Along with the Clarisonic, you get a charging cradle, a sensitive brush head and three different types of cleansers. One suitable for sensitive skin, one for normal to dry and another for oily. You have to replace the brush heads every three months by the way.
I have been using the Refreshing Gel cleanser as this is great for oily skin. I really like this cleanser, as it gently foams up and my skin feels great afterward. It is designed to clarify and balance my skin and so far so good.
You can actually use any cleanser with this tool, oil based products work fantasticly well with it. Just avoid using anything with granules as it would be too harsh for your skin.
Since using my Clarisonic, after just three days of use, my skin is now visibly smoother and brighter. I have noticed that my spots haven’t immediately cleared up, and I am getting spots in areas where I would not normally. However! As always my skin tends to break out when trying something new.
My skin really is getting better, it glows like it never has before and I can feel my moisturiser working more than I did before. I am less oily, and my pores are definitely significantly smaller. I really don’t know how I would be without this now. It really is awesome.
You may think it is an unnecessary expense, but if those of you are like me and really stress out over your skin and just love skincare then I would seriously look at getting one of these. I know the SpaceNK I used to work at offered an in store trial, so I would recommend finding your local store and seeing if you can try it out before purchasing. It might not be for everyone, but I would be seriously surprised if you didn’t like this.
